Bakong Temple, Cambodia

The temple of Bakong had been established with an artificial mountain and surrounded in a rectangular area by two walls. It is a square base with five tiers, that is, the first or outside, enclosure 900 by 700 meters surrounded a moat associated with embankment and causeways on four sides. It is noticed that there are bordered by low Naga balustrades.

The second and smaller enclosure is an entry tower of sandstone and laterite connected in the center of each side of the wall. There might be originally 22 towers inside the first enclosures and pass via the entry tower at the east. This is one to come along causeway decorated with large seven headed serpents across a moat. Long halls on each side may lie parallel to the eastern wall and maybe they may rest house for visitors.
